For a few weeks, Formula E fans have been asking themselves important questions about the start of the Season 11. Today everything was officially revealed albeit provisionally.
The electric category will return to making its engines resonate on 7 December 2024 in Brazil, just a month after the seasonal tests which will take place in November in Valencia. The Miami E-Prix has been made official and will be held on 12 April 2025. Two events on the historic Monte Carlo track are also on the calendar, unlike past editions when everything took place in a single day.
The Jakarta E-Prix is also back on the calendar after a one-year stop. The season will end as usual in London at the ExCeL with a double header. The confirmation of an E-Prix in Italy still remains to be understood, the date should correspond to March 8th which coincides with the only race on the calendar still in the confirmation phase.
Jeff Dodds, CEO of Formula E, said: “For Season 11 we will take electric racing to the next level and do things that have never been done before in motorsport. Our world-leading GEN3 EVO will debut in front of hundreds of millions of fans around the world, adding two new locations and double-header combinations to further grow our sport.”
“The new and improved calendar offers a perfect blend of circuits for drivers to push their boosted cars to the limit, while staying true to our road racing DNA and the on-track action it produces.”
Alberto Longo, co-founder and Chief Championship Officer, Formula E, said: “We are excited to offer a calendar with some new highlights, building on our historic venues. Returning to Miami gives us a home in one of the most iconic and sports-mad cities in the United States, while securing a doubleheader in Monaco is a dream come true.”
“We look forward to building on the success of Tokyo and delivering a doubleheader, returning to Jakarta and also entertaining our huge Indonesian fanbase. With 17 races across the season and our most advanced race car making its track debut, “We are offering our fans the cutting-edge sport we could only have hoped for when we founded the championship just over 10 years ago.”
Marek Nawarecki, Director of the Sports Department of the FIA Circuit, said: “The 2024/25 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship calendar features a number of circuits that will truly showcase the qualities of the all-new GEN3 EVO car, which will be introduced next season.”
“I am delighted that Formula E is capitalizing on the success of the Tokyo and Shanghai races, while at the same time returning to some of its iconic locations and retaining a good number of street circuits, which is in its core DNA. I also hope that this new season will once again host some fascinating action on the track."
