Few surprises at the end of the Imola Grand Prix regarding first position. Max Verstappen makes no mistakes at the start and already at Turn 1 and greets everyone. Despite the sword of Damocles gods track limits and a final collapse of the medium tyre, the Dutchman manages to manage and returns to victory after the break of the Miami Grand Prix in which he gave the catwalk to Lando Norris.
The Englishman from McLaren finishes glued behind the Red Bull RB20, confirming that the new package introduced in the United States has given a decisive boost to the MCL38.
Charles Leclerc's Ferrari closes on the podium and manages to achieve the maximum possible in a race in which the team did not seem perfect on a strategic front. The stops were too late. Which particularly penalized Carlos Sainz who, despite having defended fourth position at the start, he had to give way to Oscar Piastri's McLaren.
Behind the quintet are the two Mercedes (Hamilton ahead of Russell) in an anonymous GP and in line with the values that the W15 manages to express at this stage of the season. Perez, who had started on hard tires hoping for one safety cars finishes in eighth place. Competition without trebles, characterized by an excursion to Piratella.
Closing the top ten is an excellent Lance Stroll and a penny-pinching Yuki Tsunoda.
