Cedric Sambardier, currently Senior Design Engineer at Red Bull, will leave the Racing and Design department in Milton Keynes and join the Ferrari. Which should happen very soon according to rumors coming from England.
Cedric Sambardier graduated in Materials and Structures from the ISAT School of Engineering (Nevers, France) and has gained various experiences in mechanical/composite design, aerodynamics and calculation in motorsport and aeronautics.
He entered Formula 1 at Sauber in 2015, before moving to Manor Racing where he worked for just three months. In 2017 he joined Renault Sport as Composite Design Engineer. After seven months the call from Red Bull arrives. In Milton Keynes Sambardier rose through the ranks to become Senior Design Engineer.
He worked in the world champion team for seven years and is now ready to move to the court of Loic Serra (here is the profile) who could take the reins of the technical department of Ferrari from which Enrico Cardile could depart towards Aston Martin.
A few days ago John Elkann, president of the Prancing Horse, stated that the Rossa is now an attractive reality, announcing imminent acquisitions. Cedric Sambardier's is one of these and who knows it might be a prelude to Adrian Newey's for which Ferrari is still in the running. Even if there is very stiff competition from Lawrence Stroll to overcome.
