Austrian GP 2024 times and TV. The Sprint Race returns to F1. The weekend of Red Bull Ring it will be the third of the six events scheduled in the calendar characterized by the "fast format". Spielberg it's the second round of a triple headers which will end in the first weekend of July, at Silverstone.
The eleventh stage of World Championship 2024 it is held on a very particular track given the altitude and the short length which is reflected in a low number of curves.
The Red Bull Ring is located in Spielberg bei Knittelfeld, Styria. Originally built in 1969 and initially called Österreichring, the facility was renamed A1-Ring in the nineties following an expensive renovation that changed its characteristics.
Having remained inactive for many years, it was modernized and resumed activity from the 2011 motorsport season under the impetus of the new ownership of Red Bull. It retains the design of the track introduced in 1996. It has hosted thirty-five editions of the Austrian Formula 1 Grand Prix valid for the world championship: from 1970 to 1987 on the original track and from 1997 to 2003 on the completely renovated track. Since 2014 it has hosted the top category again. In 2020 and 2021 it also hosted two editions of the Styrian Grand Prix in a calendar disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The racetrack was originally built near the Zeltweg military airport. For this reason the Red Bull Ring is historically known as the Zeltweg circuit. Since the reopening in 2011, the name Spielberg circuit has been used more often due to the investments also made by the local community.
The current configuration consists of ten curves for an extension of 4318 metres. The race record belongs to Max Verstappen in 1.04.391 obtained in 2021 with the Red Bull RB19.
