Adrian Newey's name has been linked to several teams before and after his official farewell to Red Bull. Ferrari the hottest, Mercedes the lukewarm one in the process of warming up, McLaren the friendly option (Adrian is a very good friend of Zak Brown) and lastly Williams, the suggestion that would close the circle of a winning career that took its moved right from Grove.
Among the teams that are currently undergoing restructuring is Sauber, which recently passed completely into the hands of Audi. Andreas Seidl is carrying out a very thorough renovation. The keys were entrusted to James Key, former technical director of McLaren.
Has the German manager ever thought about the Newey coup to accelerate the growth of a hyper-ambitious team? “Surely every team in the paddock must be interested in having an icon like Adrian Newey on board with everything he has achieved in the past“, Seidl told Lawrence Barretto, correspondent for the F1.
“What is important for us is to create a strong team, with strong ethics and a strong spirit of cohesion, who are willing to embark on this journey together, to face the challenges we have before us and to want to be part of this project, which it is unique, which attracts many people”.

“Audi will enter F1, this will only happen once. People can help shape this project, knowing that Audi will go all-in, knowing that everything that is needed to be able to fight on the front line will be available. This approach helps us to also bring people on board from other motorsport categories, from other sectors or universities or schools as it is important not to focus only on F1 personnel”.
“I'm also keen to involve people outside of Formula 1 to ensure we have a diverse workforce. You want to get the basics right, but you also want people who think outside the box to create an advantage”.
“The focus of our hiring campaign is not on names, but about finding the right people for positions to help us increase competitiveness and move forward“.
In short, a clear closure for a team that intends to proceed with the program it set years ago and not chasing last-minute opportunities that could prove ineffective based on the scheme identified.
