It's a sweet feeling to show up in Montreal for the 2024 Canadian GP as the winner of the previous stage. Charles Leclerc hadn't tasted the taste of triumph with Ferrari for two seasons and Monaco seemed like the end of a spell.
A potentially unlocking moment. In short, the beginning of a new phase supported by a car, the SF-24 “Evo”, which has made great strides forward which must also be confirmed in North America.
The 26-year-old Monegasque keeps the bar straight and didn't get carried away by the bacchanalia as he kept his concentration very high after the ritual celebrations which lasted a little longer than strictly necessary. Her words (here those of Sainz):
“I'm not one for big celebrations, but on Sunday in Monte Carlo I made some exceptions. On Tuesday, however, I was already focused on the tire test that I had to take the following day, so I think I didn't overdo it”, specified the pilot.

Canadian GP, Leclerc: "After the victory my approach is unchanged"
Unchanged approach. The satisfaction of the victory in the Principality is therefore already behind us for the Monegasque: "It is important for a driver to reset his mind after each race: just as you must not be conditioned by a negative race, you must not let yourself be distracted by the joy of a success. In fact my approach does not change. Each Grand Prix has its own story and must be approached with a free mind”.
According to Charles, it will be a close battle in Montreal. Expectations are for another race with very close values: “I think we will have the scenario that we have seen in the last Grands Prix, that is, us, Red Bull and McLaren all very close”.
“It's difficult to say whether there could be a favourite, we will have to wait until we go on track and perhaps tomorrow won't even be enough to have a clear picture, since Friday could be wet while for Saturday and Sunday the forecast is more variables. As usual, it will be important to start on the right foot in terms of car set-up and then we will see how things evolve”.
